Celia Birtwell|Dominic Lutyens

Celia Birtwell was born & brought up in Manchester and moved to London in the early 60s, where she met Ossie Clark. Celia became a close & lasting friend of David Hockney, holidaying with him & sitting for a wide array of drawings & paintings. In 1984 she opened her shop in Notting Hill selling fabrics for interiors. Since 2000 her joyful prints have attracted a new generation of fans, with two collections for TopShop & designs for a range of outlets. Celia was made a CBE in June 2011.

Dominic Lutyens is a freelance arts journalist who writes regularly about fashion, design, interiors and art for the Guardian, the FT, the Telegraph, Elle Decoration and Design Week.
