Cath Kidston began her career as an interior designer before opening her first retail shop in London in 1993, where she sold vintage fabrics and antique furniture. Now with more than 40 stores and concessions in the UK, plus more in the Republic of Ireland, Japan and South Korea, Cath Kidston Ltd is now a presence on almost every high street. The popularity of Cath Kidston's designs increases year by year; in addition to the signature florals and spot prints on cloth, the company has developed a wide range of products in response to a growing demand. Everything from bags, cushions, stationery, t-shirts, nightwear and babygrows are all part of the ever-expanding product range. Cath Kidston Ltd is one of the most influential and original design companies to emerge from the UK in recent years. As founder and creative director, Cath Kidston was awarded the MBE for services to business in 2010.
